Lauren van Haaften-Schick is an art historian and Lecturer in Arts Administration at Teachers College, Columbia University. Her in-progress book details the history of The Artist's Reserved Rights Transfer and Sale Agreement, or "The Artist’s Contract," an iconic artists' rights contract developed by curator Seth Siegelaub and attorney Robert Projansky in 1971. She spoke about the contract and ways the Art Workers’ Coalition imagined systems of mutual support in the late 1960s, before they had the technological tools to enable them.
