After a period of dormancy of over two years, the Ateneo Economics Association is proud to announce the return of its initiative, now under a new name: The Oikonomia.
The Oikonomia aims to bring the Ateneo community stories, news, and research papers that are relevant and helpful in the community’s journey to becoming more aware and knowledgeable about current issues and events in the realm of economics, while also exploring a variety of other issues using an economic lens.
Leading the team under the AEA’s Research and Development Committee is Vice President of Publications, Carl Benedict Mariano of 4 AB Economics. Joining him in the Publications Pool are Associate Vice Presidents Luigi Gaza and Zack Tamayo, both from the Economics program as well.
The Oikonomia will be publishing the following kinds of articles:
Short News Briefs: reports on contemporary local and global economic developments.
Institutional Statements: AEA’s official stance on certain topics, issues, and events.
Contemporary Features: in-depth analysis of current events.
Editorials: The Oikonomia’s own response and opinions regarding certain topics.
Opinion Pieces: articles written by individual team members but may also come from any member of AEA.
Research Papers: studies conducted by professors and students of the Ateneo de Manila University’s Economics Department.
As the school year begins, we look forward to serving the Ateneo community by starting economic discourse and provoking action.
