Role of the Student in Advising Process
We expect you to:
- Meet with your academic advisor/success coach on the regular basis, at least once a month, to be successful.
- Advising meetings are required to remove an advising hold and prepare for registration.
- Be engaged in the major exploration process (attend meetings prepared, complete necessary assessments and surveys, etc).
- Monitor your academic progress on Degree Works including knowing what courses have been completed, what courses remain, and what good academic standing means.
- Good academic standing requires a 2.0 GPA or higher.
Role of the Academic Advisors/Success Coaches:
You can expect the following from the advising staff:
- Guide you through the major and career exploration process and explore your options at the university.
- Provide information and resources about majors/minors offered at the university.
- Help you navigate the University systems and processes.
