Join Alyssa Rose for a wild winter walk. The group will gather at the locations below and explore the trails. Along the way we will search for animals, their tracks, and other signs they have been nearby. We will also play games, solve riddles, and more! Every winter walk will be different depending on the weather, the wildlife, and the wonderful hikers who join the fun.

Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 3:00 - 4:00 PM at Mendon Ponds Park (Hopkin’s Point Shelter)
Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 3:00 - 4:00 PM at Mendon Ponds Park (West Shelter)
Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Aqueduct Park, Palmyra, NY
Groups will depart at the time listed. Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to complete forms and prepare for the cold.
If no hikers have arrived at the start time, I will wait 15 minutes and then depart the location.

These hikes will be approximately 1 mile long with limited hills.
Fun for all ages, but ideal for ages 4-12.

In the event of extreme weather, please check this page for cancellations.
This is a FREE program! Donations and tips are welcome. (Cash, Venmo, or Paypal - @rosieswildlife)
All children are required to have a parent present for the entire program. One adult can take responsibility for up to five children.
Adults will be required to complete a waiver prior to the hike for themselves and the children they claim responsibility for.
All participants are encouraged to walk or be carried. Strollers are welcome, but can be difficult to maneuver or need to be parked for a portion of the program.
Waterproof snow or hiking boots are required. Please dress for the weather and know we may encounter rain, cold weather, mud, and snow. Snow gear, including hats, gloves, and scarves, are highly recommended!
Parking is available at the check in location.
Restrooms and drinking fountains are not available at these locations.
