Ready to swap screen time for trail time? Lace up your boots and join the Erie Canal Explorers! These family friendly adventures are fun for all ages. Hikers can borrow tools such as binoculars, magnifying glasses, field guides, and more! Each week we will explore a 1-2 mile section of the Erie Canal in either Monroe or Wayne Counties. These aren’t just walks in the woods—they are interactive adventures designed to turn every hiker into a local nature expert.

Wildlife Observations: From spotting birds to searching for tiny critters, we’ll learn to look (and listen) like real naturalists.
Nature Games: We dive deeper into facts and fun with interactive games, like I spy, trail trivia, and more.
