Dr. Jain is a computational biophysicist and bioinformatician with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India. His expertise spans artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), bioinformatics, computational chemistry, molecular modelling, and computational biophysics, with a strong focus on developing integrative computational approaches for biomedical research.
His research interests encompass AI-driven drug discovery, biomarker and therapeutic target discovery, protein allostery, translational bioinformatics, peptide engineering, and biomaterials design. His current research focuses on the identification and validation of novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for cancer and Alzheimer's disease, the rational design and optimization of small molecules and peptides, the development of AI/ML models for biomedical applications, and the design of peptide-based biomaterials for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. His long-term goal is to integrate AI, bioinformatics, and multiscale molecular simulations to advance precision medicine and accelerate the translation of computational discoveries into clinically relevant solutions.

Trajectory
Dr. Jain was born in Seoni, Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, India, and completed schooling in Indore in 1997. In 2002, he completed his Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Pt. R. S. S. University Raipur and later moved to IIT Kanpur to pursue his Master's (M.Tech) in Computational Biology. In 2012, he completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Computational Biophysics from IIT Kanpur. He moved to Mainz, Germany, in 2012 for Postdoctorate training at the Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research. From 2013-18, he continued his postdoctoral research at the University of Konstanz, Germany. He returned to India in 2018 and joined as Assistant Professor and Ramalingaswami Fellow at NIPER-Ahmedabad. In 2020, he joined the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT Mesra), Ranchi.
