Dr. Alok Jain is a computational biophysicist with a bachelor's in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. 

He has expertise in computational chemistry, structural bioinformatics, computational bio-nanotechnology, and computational biophysics. His current research interests lie primarily in identifying, designing, and optimizing drug/lead compounds using advanced computational techniques for cancer and Alzheimer's disease and designing and characterizing nanomaterials for biomedical applications.

Trajectory

Dr. Jain was born in Seoni, Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, India, and completed schooling in Indore in 1997. In 2002, he completed his Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from Pt. R. S. S. University Raipur and later moved to IIT Kanpur to pursue his Master's (M.Tech) in Computational Biology. In 2012, he completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Computational Biophysics from IIT Kanpur. He moved to Mainz, Germany, in 2012 for Postdoctorate training at the Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research. From 2013-18, he continued his postdoctoral research at the University of Konstanz, Germany. He returned to India in 2018 and joined as Assistant Professor and Ramalingaswami Fellow at NIPER-Ahmedabad. In 2020, he joined the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT Mesra), Ranchi.
