This directory includes licensed U.S. mental health professionals who identify as adoptees + work with adoptees / adoptive families in a variety of public and private settings. 

Only providers who have voluntarily submitted their information have been listed.

Mission: To educate, support, connect, collaborate, galvanize + give voice to intercountry adoptees from around the world.

ICAV achieves this through:

• Providing a safe, supportive + respectful forum for adoptees to form their views + opinions while they grow throughout their lifelong adoption pathway.

• Encouraging intercountry adoptees + intercountry adoptee-led groups to speak out + advocate for the rights of intercountry adoptees + biological families.

• Raising awareness in the community + to the public about the complexities involved in intercountry adoption on both the micro + macro levels.

The idea behind the Coalition for Truth + Transparency in Adoption was inspired by the following guiding principles:

• State-by-state legislation requires flexible strategies + solutions. Multiple paths can lead to the top of the mountain.  

• Local advocates + constituents with firsthand knowledge of behind-the-scenes facts + political dynamics are vital expert resources. 

• Good bills with dedicated sponsors + passionate grass roots advocates have too often encountered better-funded opponents employing an in-house lobbyist or  influential  government relations firm.

• Advocating for Truth + Transparency in Adoption means expanding our vision beyond the basic priority of records access for adult adoptees.

The Adoptee Rights Law Center PLLC is an adoptee-driven law firm founded by Gregory Luce, a Minnesota lawyer who was also born + adopted in the District of Columbia.

He helps adult adopted people navigate legal challenges in securing U.S. citizenship + lawful immigration status + seeking information to which they are entitled. 

He also works to develop broader legal strategies to challenge existing legal frameworks that operate to deny adopted people basic + fundamental rights of identity + belonging.

The Adoptee Rights Coalition (ARC) is an adoptee-led 501(c)(4) all-volunteer grassroots organization. 

Formed in 2005, our passionate supporters include adult adoptees, families by birth + adoption + others who share our mission to promote policies + practices rooted in truth and transparency rather than shame + secrecy. 

Our signature program includes sponsoring a booth each year at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) where we educate state legislators directly about the importance of restoring rights to adult adoptees to be able to request their original birth certificates.
