About Me

Hello!

My name is Anushka Dhariwal, I am a rising senior at River Dell High School. I have created this initiative to give back to my community. My project revolves around caring for the senior citizens in our community, as they are often overlooked or forgotten about. Through my programs of Adopt a Senior and Five Minute Friday, I hope to pair volunteers with senior citizens to aid them with simple tasks and give them someone to talk to.

One day while talking to my grandmother in India, I realized how she needed help in running simple errands and how lonely she had become due to the lockdown she faced in her country. Due to the pandemic, she was left in a lonely bubble. She wasn't tech-savvy and I thought so weren't many other seniors. This made me think of the seniors who may need assistance in my own town.

Then began my journey of establishing this project for the need to serve the senior citizens in my own community.
