AnnaBelle Deaner- Founder, Editor-in-Chief
AnnaBelle is a seventeen-year-old impassioned writer who hails from Melville, New York and attends Half Hollow Hills High School East on Long Island. AnnaBelle has won 11 Scholastic Gold Keys , 7 Silver Keys and 13 Honorable Mentions in the categories of flash fiction, poetry, humor, photography and critical essay. She placed first in the Huntington Youth Writes! Competition for Original Poetry, earned Honorable Mention in the Walt Whitman Poetry Contest, and won first place in the L.I.L.T. (Long Island Language Teachers) Poetry Interpretation (Spanish) and Original Poetry (Spanish) Contests for three consecutive years. She also finished in fifth and eighth place in the New York State Speech Competition in Declamation and earned top 20 honors as a sophomore. She will be competing at States and Nationals in Debate for Original Oratory this year and founded the Chapter of Poetry Out Loud at her school, advancing to Regionals for two straight years. Her overriding goal is to give voice to the disenfranchised in society and to bridge the educational gap that plagues our country. Her magazine Adolsencet Voices is an impassioned creation that refutes the notion that adolescents do not opine and advocate for causes close to their heart!
