Worked with the Consumer Experience Director to optimize the company's processes that generate revenue
Throughout the summer of 2023, I will work as a Data Science intern at AmerisourceBergen, now Cencora, a company that works as a pharmaceutical distribution and wholesale company. Cencora is well renowned as a Fortune 10 company, as well as prominent within the medicinal and healthcare space. I work directly under the Consumer Experience director of the company and I have been able to work with all 26 Business Units at the company to understand everything about the company's operations and how they interact with other companies to drive sales. This is the first large company I've worked for, and I have been able to see the corporate world from a completely different perspective.Â
The structure of this internship revolves around assignments. Every morning, I would have meetings with my manager to talk about what I worked on the previous day and what work I could do the current day. Additionally, Cencora hosted weekly professional development meetings that helped students navigate the professional world and they fostered career advice. I only recently started at the company and I still have many weeks left of my internship, but I've already had the opportunity to work on programming customer surveys and website intercepts by analyzing various forms of user metadata that the company tracks along with the responses from Cencora's customers allowing me to effectively engage customers driving 80% of the company's revenue. I also facilitated coordination across all 26 Business Units to compile and clean a list of nearly 100,000 contacts and created various lists that showcased conflicts and collisions amongst the contacts to allow the business to take care of their current problems with customers. I look forward to the work I will continue to do at the company, and I believe I will have invaluable experience at an incredibly influential company and learn more about data analysis processes than ever before.
