Our Broad Mission: Crop Protection
Utah’s major agronomic crops—alfalfa, small grains, corn, and safflower—and turfgrass face persistent pressure from numerous insect pests. Managing these pests without harming beneficial species is increasingly difficult under traditional, pesticide‑intensive practices. Ecologically-Based Integrated Insect (pests and beneficials) Management offers a sustainable path for plant protection, reducing reliance on chemicals and enhancing natural pest regulation.
