What I intend to do after SIP is to apply for Fall internship. I am interested in internship in tech particularly software engineering internships. Hopefully, I get software engineering internship because they are usually hard to get and they want students with a lot of experience in tech which I don't really have.
Having a software engineering internship will provide me with valuable experience that will give me a better understanding of what a software engineering career entails. Additionally, it will allow me to network and connect with older, experienced software engineers, as well as fellow students within the same field of study. This interaction can provide insight into how I can develop my skills and become a better software engineer.
As a computer science student, it is very essential I gain practical experience in software engineering through internships while in still in college. This will give me the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge I gained from my classes to real-word scenarios. This will also develop other theoretical skills I need to have in the tech field which can also help me gain a competitive edge in the job market. Overall, having software engineering internships will make me stand out and give me the experiences employers need candidates to have after graduating from college.
In other to make this next happen which is getting a fall internship job, I have been applying for internship jobs in Indianapolis on Indeed, LinkedIn, glassdoor, IUPUI handshake, and Ascend Indiana.
During the summer holiday, I intend to use my free time to practice LeetCode problems to help sharpen my analytical and critical thinking skills. This will also prepare me for job interviews because many companies use LeetCode problems in their interviews and get familiar with different programming concepts, especially data structures, and algorithms.
