Art from July 18th, 2022
My name is Addi (they/them), and I am a Theatre Major here at CCBC. If you have watched any of the productions here at CCBC, there's a chance you have seen me perform. I am also an active participant in the music program, having taken many voice classes and even appeared in two recitals. I am an avid lover of musical theatre, my current favorite musical being Cabaret. Art is really important to my life, as it is a part of everything I do - I like to act, sing, and draw. I don't know where I'd be without these passions.
I am currently working toward having a career in acting. I am getting my A.F.A. in Theatre here at CCBC, and then I plan to finish my schooling at Towson University, and graduate with a B.F.A. in Theatre. Truthfully, my main goal is to be a successful actor - I don't need to make it big; all I want is to live a life I can comfortably sustain, and to work in preferably live-stage productions like plays and musicals, though I would love to explore the film medium as well. I want to find happiness in my work and take pride in myself. My biggest dream is to one day move to New York City and perform on Broadway.
Publicly online, I like to keep my identity more private. My usernames are always "Swampeii" (people call me Swamps) when it comes to public accounts, and it is usually for online friends or strictly art-related accounts. I share my art on Instagram and Discord servers, my main medium being digital art using the drawing program called Fire Alpaca. To earn a little extra money for my hobby, I take commissions as well! For anyone who happens to come across this page, I will drop the links to my Instagram art account for my most recent art updates, as well as my commission document (for those who want some personalized art 😏).
This CSIT course was overall very helpful for me and my grandma-understanding of technology. Maybe I'm exaggerating, though seriously, I learned a lot from this course! I learned a lot about the Microsoft Office applications, as well how to be safer about my digital privacy and being aware about cyberattacks, and how to better evaluate my sources. I also learned a lot of new terms that I can now understand out in the world. However, I also had a lot of challenges mainly during the 2nd half of the course. Being an accelerated course, I only had 7 weeks to do all these projects and assignments, so trying to get everything done along with my other obligations was very stressful. In the end, I truly tried my best. I learned a little bit about myself, that maybe if I consider taking an accelerated course, I should consider doing it with less classes. I originally took this class because I didn't want to take an audio tech class (recommended for my major), and I'm still glad I chose it but for different reasons: it was very useful in understanding things about the devices I use everyday. One of my appreciations is that this course is very easy to navigate. Despite my struggles, I can safely say this is a great course!
