Project Overview

For this assignment, I had to choose an emerging technology of today and make a PowerPoint presentation on the topic I chose, exploring basic information on its benefits, risks, and continuing advancements. For the presentation, I decided to make my PowerPoint on 3D printing since I wanted to find something that related to my major. While I didn't talk about theatre, it still has many uses to incorporate into set, props, and costume designs.

Lessons Learned

I learned a lot of interesting things about 3D printing - I didn't really know how it worked before, though I am glad I know now! 3D printing can do some pretty impressive things, the most shocking for me being that we can 3D print food, living cells, and even an entire house (which apparently has been done multiple times before). On a research perspective, I learned that on Google Scholar, a lot of information is locked behind a paywall. There were many articles of information I couldn't access because I needed to have a site subscription, so Google Scholar didn't end up being very useful to me this time around.
