Therapeutic Horseback Riding Programs
Offers group and individual riding lessons to individuals with physical, emotional, behavior and cognitive challenges.
Lessons begin April 1st and are offered on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Scholarships available
Adaptive Fitness Classes
Tailored workouts for individuals with mobility challenges, neurological conditions, and other impairments
Build functional strength to improve activities of daily living
Specialized coaching, small-group classes, and personal training
Group fitness class meets Saturdays at 11:30 am
Spectacular Skier Program
6-week ski program for children with special needs
The skier will be matched with a high school student or community mentor to ensure their success on the mountain

An application must be completed two weeks prior to lesson start date

Offered to youth and adults with disabilities at Greater Burlington YMCA
Provides acclimation to the aquatic environment, stroke work, and competition swimming
Apply for scholarship ($25 application fee) for 5 lessons.
Kayaking
Offered to youth and adults of all ability levels.
Runs for 8 weeks from mid June-mid August
This Program is regularly held at Waterbury Reservoir but occasionally offers programs on Lake Champlain
Applications open May 15th ($25 application fee)
Indoor Rock Climbing
Offered to youth and adults of all ability levels at Metro Rock in Essex Junction and Petra Cliffs in Burlington
Scholarship based ($25 application fee)

Boats can also be controlled with a sip ‘n’ puff switch, granting sailors with significant mobility or dexterity impairments the chance to captain independently.

Sled Hockey
Offered weekly from December-mid March
Available to all ages and abilities
Players sit on sleds and propel themselves by using modified hockey sticks. Participants with significant mobility or dexterity limitations have the option to have a pusher propel their sled.
