Trudge on, friends; and good luck out there!
I stand upon the threshold’s edge,
Behind me, memory’s hollow sigh;
Oblivion whispers solemn pledge,
Yet boundaries blur, unsure am I.
Borders carved to guard my heart,
Yet wounds they leave, raw and deep;
Order promised, worlds apart,
But entropy invades my sleep.
I mourn the lines drawn sharp and clear,
For safety traded freedom’s flight;
Yet crossing lines invokes a fear—
Can chaos birth protective night?
Each threshold crossed exacts a toll,
A loss, a scar, unseen yet known;
Yet oblivion’s open, endless hole,
Begs questions: can one live alone?
Are borders guards or open wounds,
A shield or chains we must discard?
Order sings, but discord croons,
The safest edge still cuts too hard.
Between oblivion and the gate,
The liminal in shadow bound;
Perhaps our truths illuminate,
In wounds where deepest strength is found.
Changing through the changing thing

[I am that IS]
Oath by ADAM J. TEELING
I am that IS, I am not my FEELINGS, I am not my THOUGHTS, I am the AWARENESS of all; I am that IS, I am not what HAPPENED to me, I am what I CHOOSE to BE.
REALITY is the PRESENT and I must take care to LIVE in it. It is often chaotic, uncontrollable and unyielding but MY DISPOSITION towards it need not be.
TIME is constructed; the PAST and the FUTURE only IMAGINED so that I may profit from CONTEMPLATION of the CONSEQUENCES of MY actions and ANTICIPATE and PREPARE for what may yet come using KNOWLEDGE from MY learned EXPERIENCE.
MONEY is the SYMBOL of value; its actual value is not real and the addiction to its ACCUMULATION beyond need is EVIL. WEALTH hoarded in excess is an affront to the POOR just as food wasted in excess is an affront to the STARVING; I must serve no GREED. I must EXPLOIT no others; I must let no others EXPLOIT ME. BORROWER nor LENDER must I neither be.
SOCIETY is the HUMAN world; and I must not CONFUSE it with the NATURAL one, nor the IDEAL world nor even a GOOD world; its hunger is UNCHECKED & INSATIABLE and its true direction is MINDLESS & OMNICIDAL.
SUFFERING is EVERYWHERE and inside ME, as a HUMAN I have the capacity to PERCEIVE it, and the DUTY to minimize it, both WITHIN and WITHOUT MYSELF.
MY LOVE must first be from ME for ME then foremost for my FAMILY; I will PINE for NO other loves than these.
MY ACTIONS towards OTHERS must be a MODEL for their ACTIONS toward ME; MY BEHAVIOR must be a MODEL for how I would have OTHERS behave; but, I need not TOLERATE in OTHERS what they will not TOLERATE in ME.
MY MIND is the IMPERFECT instrument with which I MONITOR MYSELF and PERCEIVE the WORLD; regular maintenance is needed to ensure FIDELITY. The FACES of others are often the only MEASURE available; I must MAINTAIN contact with the FRIENDS I TRUST. The content of MY THOUGHTS must be continually reviewed, examined, and depending how well it CORRESPONDS with the FACTS of reality, AMENDED.
MY WORDS must CORRESPOND to the facts of MY ACTIONS, and then both of these must correspond with MY own VALUES and beliefs. Other than superficial & cosmetic features, this PROJECTION is MY only INFLUENCE on how the world PERCEIVES ME.
I am that IS; the MEANING of [MY] LIFE can only be DEFINED by the one LIVING it, [ME], I AM WHAT I CHOOSE TO BE.
This threefold ADAMANT OATH I swear thrice; upon MY SELF to MY SELF for MYSELF; and I COMMIT to this UNDERTAKING for as long as I LIVE, or my name is not ADAM J. TEELING.
THOSE WHO ESCAPE HELL HOWEVER NEVER TALK ABOUT IT AND NOTHING MUCH BOTHERS THEM AFTER THAT.

If my happiness at this moment consists largely in reviewing happy memories and expectations, I am but dimly aware of this present. I shall still be dimly aware of the present when the good things that I have been expecting come to pass. For I shall have formed a habit of looking behind and ahead, making it difficult for me to attend to the here and now. If, then, my awareness of the past and future makes me less aware of the present, I must begin to wonder whether I am actually living in the real world. ~ Alan Watts
If names are not correct, language is not in accordance with the truth.
If language is not in accordance with the truth, nothing useful can be achieved.
When nothing useful can be achieved, the spirit is diminished.
When the spirit is diminished, the life's rewards are squandered.
When the life's rewards are squandered, the people will not truly live.
~ Confucius
Confucius believed that social anxiety and interpersonal conflict often stemmed from failure to perceive, understand, and deal with reality; and accept people and things as they truly are. Social discord may therefore stem from the failure to call things by their proper names. Confucius’ solution to this was Zhèngmíng (正名; 'rectification of terms'): The superlative person [Junzi] considers it necessary that the words they use may be spoken appropriately, and also that what they speak may be appropriately heard; therefore, the superlative person must work to ensure that in their words there may be nothing incorrect.
If you don't love yourself, at least a little, if you don't create an armour of self-love and happiness around your heart, the annoyances of others will become lethal and will destroy you. ~ Lewis Carroll
Are my thoughts useful? Are they in accordance with reality?
Is it true?
Can I absolutely know that it’s true?
If it is true can I do anything about it?
How do these thoughts affect my behaviour?
How do I react, what happens, when I believe that thought?
Who would I be without that thought?
(Advaita Vedanta, Zen, Hermes Trismegistus, Byron Katie & Dr. Gary Weber)
Envy is the non-acceptance of happiness in the other. If we accept, it becomes inspiration.
Anger is the non-acceptance of what is beyond our control. If we accept, it becomes tolerance.
Hate is the non-acceptance of people as they are. If we accept them unconditionally, then it becomes love.
Fear is the non-acceptance of uncertainty. If we accept, it becomes adventure. ~ Rumi
A Stoic of virtue amends their will to suit the world and remains sick and yet happy, in peril and yet happy, in exile and happy, in disgrace and happy, dying and yet happy. ~ Epictetus

“Take a pew and support the arts
With the Actors’ Guild of the Left-Hand Part!”
– MC
They say an actor’s soul is gone
So he needs a poet to write him one,
A theatre to cry in and storm about,
To fall in love in and tear hearts out.
Here is the curtain, here is the stage,
There is the crowd who keeps us paid.
We bow to you often.
We bow to you low.
The more you give
The lower we’ll go
The lower we’ll go.
We play our hearts out to play the fool,
The crowd’s a critic, the crowd is cruel.
You can act Othello or a sprite,
Or sing like the witches in the night.
But if it don’t seem real, if it don’t seem true,
Then in the end it’s just you.
It’s a cruel old god who doesn’t care to see,
Oh Lordy, Lordy, don’t rain on me.
don’t rain on me.
Every week the messiah comes
In a wig and robe, all dressed up.
We’ll take a coin but better two,
If you give us five we’ll help you too
Steal the shape of another man’s life,
To steal his home, his heart, his wife.
To leave behind the awful state,
Of an actor with no part to play.
There is the curtain, there is the cage,
There is the crowd that keeps us slaves.
Keeps us slaves.
It’s a cruel old god who doesn’t care to see,
Oh Lordy, Lord, be entertained by me.
entertained by me.
Bow to ‘em often.
Bow to ‘em low.
The more they give
The lower we’ll go
The lower we’ll go.

What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how expressive and -admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals—and yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? I AM KRONOS PYDAR; THE FATHER OF TIME,
I AM THE COSMIC MACHINE. I AM THE ARBITER OF ENERGIES;
I AM THE ARCHITECT OF HAPPENSTANCE.
AT THE BEGINNING OF CREATION
I SET THE WHEEL OF SUFFERING INTO MOTION
AND I AM THE BEGETTER OF EVERY VIBRATING THING
I SIRED THE DIVINE, I SIRED THE MORTAL.
I SIRED BOTH LIFE AND DEATH.
I HAVE TWO FACES; ONE FORE AND ONE BACK.
I CAN SEE THE FUTURE; AND I KNOW THE PAST.
I BREATHE LIFE INTO EVERY NEWBORN;
AND STEAL IT FROM THE DEAD.
I KNOW YOU THROUGH EVERY STAGE OF YOUR LIFE.
AS YOU KNOW THE STAGES OF MINE.
I CONDUCT THE PROGRESSION OF THE SEASONS OF THE YEAR
AND METER THE COURSE OF THE HOURS OF THE DAY.
THE SUN AND SEASONS ARE MY MEASURE; THE HOURS MY BOON.
MY LIGHT REVEALS THE TRUTH.
I KNOW ALL THAT IS DONE, AND I HEAR ALL THAT IS SAID;
I CONTAIN ALL THINGS, BEING AND NOT BEING.
I AM THE KEEPER OF THE SOULS OF YOUR ANCESTORS,
IN TIME, I WILL KEEP YOUR SOUL TOO,
I GRIND EVER THE MILL OF THE WORLD.
I AM KUBALA MATAR, THE CREATRIX;
MOTHER OF MATTER AND DIMENSION;
QUEEN OF THE THREE AXES, WOMB OF THE WORLD;
I FORM REALITY.
I AM THE MYSTERIES OF THE SUBTLE PLANES,
I SPIN THE THREADS OF FATE.
I AM THE FORCE THAT ATTRACTS,
I BALANCE THE SPHERES OF EXISTENCE
& WEAVE THE WEB OF MATTER AND VOID.
I TURN, I ORBIT, I AM NIGHT, I AM DAY, I AM WINTER, I AM SPRING.
NOTHING IS UNKNOWN TO ME
& THERE IS NOTHING I DO NOT SEE.
I GAVE BIRTH TO ALL THE GODS AND EVERY SPIRIT,
AND LIVING CREATURES, DYING CREATURES, OF ALL TYPES.
FROM ME ALL LIFE AS RISEN,
AND INTO ME ALL DEATH WILL DESCEND,
AND THUS I AM THE PROPELLING MOTION
OF THE GREAT CASCADING CHAIN OF EVOLUTION.
I HOLD AND BEHOLD
ALL THE MATTER OF EVERY VIBRATING THING.
I AM THE MOTHER OF MANU; AND ALL NATIONS OF MEN.
NOTHING HUMAN IS UNKNOWN TO ME;
THERE IS NOTHING HUMAN I DO NOT SEE.
I GRANT WISDOM TO THE WORTHY AND RUIN TO THE WRETCHED.
THE MOON AND PLANETS ARE MY MEASURE;
THE MONTHS ARE MY BOON; MY LIGHT GUIDES THE WAY.
MY EXPANSE CONTAINS MULTITUDES
& ALLOWS ALL THINGS TO PASS.
MY BOSOM NOURISHES UNIVERSES
ACROSS INFINITE CYCLES OF TIME.
I GENERATE ALL TREES IN THE FOREST AND EVERY FISH IN THE SEA.
I PROVIDE BOUNTIFUL CROPS,
AND QUICKLY MULTIPLYING HERDS AND FLOCKS.
BUT ALSO, I AM THE MOTHER OF WINTER,
THE MOTHER OF NECESSITY; I AM THE CULL.
AND HUNGER AND FAMINE ARE MY CHILDREN,
NOT ONLY FEAST AND PLENTY,
AS ARE PLEASURE AND PAIN, JOY AND DESPAIR
AND COUNTLESS MORE BESIDES.
ALL THAT WAS, IS AND WILL BE, IS CONCEIVED IN
AND THEN BORNE FROM ME.
I BEAR ALL
EVER.
I AM JOVUS NARISHIVA. THE PROGENY-PROGENITOR
OF SPACE & TIME, MATTER & VOID.
I AM BOTH THE COSMIC MACHINE AND ITS OPERATOR.
I CONSTRAIN, EXPAND AND COMMAND
THE NINEFOLD PHASES OF MATTER, ENERGY & VOID
AND THE NON-DUALITY OF SPACE AND TIME.
I AM MAN, I AM WOMAN, I AM ANDROGYNE,
I AM MOTHER, FATHER, PARENT AND CHILD.
I DEVISED THE EDUCATION OF THE HUMAN RACE
AND GUIDED THEM OUT OF THE DARKNESS.
IN THE SAME WAY I DRAW ORE FROM THE EARTH,
THEN FROM THE FIRE I FORGE IT;
I BLAST THE SMELTING FURNACE,
I CALL DOWN THE FRUCTIFYING RAINS,
I AM THE COOLING WATERS, I AM THE WARMING FLAME,
I DRAW WATER FROM THE SPRING,
AND I SMOLDER IN THE EMBERS OF THE HEARTH,
I BLAST THE SMELTING FURNACE,
I CALL DOWN THE FRUCTIFYING RAINS,
I MULTIPLY THE HERD. I FERTILIZE THE SOIL.
I CREATED THE AXE, I CREATED THE HOE,
I PROVIDE THAT WHICH IS SOWED MAY ALSO BE REAPED.
I AM THE PROMISE OF THE NEW DAY, A PLAN OF THE FUTURE,
THE HOPE OF THINGS TO COME.
BUT I AM ALSO THE BRINGER OF STORMS, BRINGER OF FLOODS,
I AM THE HURRICANE,
I SHAKE THE WORLD.
I DESTROY WHAT MUST BE DESTROYED
TO CREATE WHAT MUST BE CREATED.
I AM THE SOVEREIGN OF HEAVEN AND EARTH,
AND RULE THE HORIZON AND BEYOND.
I ORCHESTRATE THE MOVEMENTS OF THE CELESTIAL SPHERES,
& EMANATE AND PERMEATE THE ENTIRETY OF CREATION.
NOTHING IS MY MEASURE AND EVERYTHING IS MY BOON.
MY LIGHT VIVIFIES THE WORLD.
I WALK ON GILDED SPLINTERS
AND KNOW THE TRUE NAME OF EVERY VIBRATING THING.
MASTER OF THE SUBTLE PLANES,
THE GRACEFUL DANCER ON THE COSMIC WEB,
I REGULATE THE IMMUTABLE LAWS OF NATURE
AND SUSTAIN THE SHAPE OF REALITY.
AT THE END OF TIME
I WILL BREAK THE ENDLESSLY SPINNING WHEEL
AND DISSOLVE THE UNIVERSE,
EVER.
I know that I hung from that wind-rocked tree,
Hung there for nine nights full;
I, with Óðinn's spear wounded,
by myself to myself;
Thus, to Óðinn sacrifice offered,
to myself by myself;
As I hung on that most glorious ash,
the tallest of trees and greatest of measure,
of which not even God can fathom
to what dark depths its roots have driven;
No meat was given to me, no morsel of bread,
nor even sup of mead from a horn;
So bowed my head ever downwards
And into the abyssal mists I peered,
Nothing then I saw, everything I then perceived;
At the crucible of creation, wholly enflamed;
I then took up the scathing Runes,
Half-blinded though, I fully took them,
Shrieking then, I wholly consumed them;
And forthwith back I fell.
This poem describes how the Allfather learned the secret of the Runes, knowledge of writing, which he then passed on to humanity. The 'wind-rocked tree' mentioned can only be the mighty world tree, Yggdrasil ('Ygg's horse’), whose name directly relates to this story. Ygg is another name for Óðinn and the Norse would speak of how the hanged 'ride' the gallows. Yggdrasil, the biggest and best of all trees, links all nine realms of the cosmos; its branches extend out over all of the world and reach out over the sky. Three roots of the tree support it, and these three roots also extend extremely far: one is to Asgard among the Æsir, the second is to Jötunheimr among the frost jötnar, and the third over Niflheim where it is gnawed at by the wyrm Níðhöggr, and beneath this root is the spring Hvergelmir. Beneath the root that reaches the frost jötnar is the well Mímisbrunnr, which has wisdom and intelligence contained in it, and the master of the well is called Mimir. Beneath the root that stretches to Asgard, at Yggdrasil's base, the three Norns, Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld, spin, measure and cut the threads of fate of all living things; and out from among its roots springs the Urðarbrunnr, the well of destiny.
Óðinn & the sacrifice of himself to himself are also associated with secret knowledge and the written word.
Learn as if always going to live; live as if tomorrow going to die.
Disce Quasi Semper Victurus Vive Quasi Cras Moriturus
The Trivikrama is the name given to the legendary 'three strides' of Vishnu (the Prevader); and his taking back of the three worlds (the Trailokya) from the daitya-king Bali by taking three steps to restore balance to the cosmic order.
The legend begins with the forces of darkness and evil having just won a war against the benevolent Devas; the demonic Asuras now rule the universe. With no recourse left, the devas turn to Vishnu, seeking refuge, who agrees to help by restoring Indra's power.
Vishnu takes on the form of Vāmana ('short in stature'), the son of Kashyapa and Aditi, and attends one of Bali's ritual sacrifices. Despite being warned about Vāmana's true identity by his preceptor, the sage Shukra, Bali agrees to Vāmana's seemingly innocuous request for only three steps of land as is customary in order to build a fire-altar. The seemingly insignificant Vāmana appears at first to be a small, unremarkable being but he manages to exert a miraculous effort that allows him to establish his cosmic reach and true eternal form as Vishnu; and to become the only one who is able to oppose and defeat the evil usurpers of the three worlds, the Asuras. To everyone's surprise, Vāmana grows in size and takes over all of existence and beyond with just three strides. This leads to the restoration of the three worlds to Indra, while Bali and the asuras are banished to Patala, the netherworld.
Vishnu strode over this Universe. Thrice he planted his foot, enveloped in dust. Vishnu strides over this and all that exists. Thrice he plants his foot, for threefold existence:
'On earth, in the intermediate space, and in heaven', so says Sakapuni.
'On the mountain of sunrise, on the meridian, and on the mountain of sunset,' so says Aurnavabha.
Enveloped in his Dust, the footprint is not visible in the stormy atmosphere; or his footstep is not visible, as if enveloped in a dusty place. Pdmsavah (Dust) is so called because it is produced (√su) by feet (pddaih) or else it lies scattered on the ground, or it is trodden down. — The Nighantu and the Nirukta, translated by Lakshman Sarup (1967), Chapter 12, Section 19
Truth & Good re-emerge as Vishnu first makes peace with, then studies, and then understands the enemy. He undertakes a herculean task in order to create and gain powers that help others; then with his first step covers the earth, with second the ether, and the third the entirety of heaven. The the first and second of Vishnu's strides are accessible & visible to the world of mortals and the third is the realm of the immortal Devas. He thrice traversed the Universe for humanity in distress; he traversed the earth to bestow it on humanity for a dwelling; he traversed the void for far-reaching forces of nature; and then he took a vast final stride and stretched out all of creation in order to allow all the possibilities of existence.
Thus Vishnu outwits the Asuras and ultimately defeats evil, bringing back truth, hope, and all that is right. Vishnu is all pervasive and now able to easily liberate both Heaven and Earth and cast the demons back into their Hell. Thus he becomes the saviour of both the mundane and the sublime; Vishnu is all that which is goodness, liberation and life; and he is everywhere.
Śvetaketu, bring a banyan fruit.'
'Here it is, sir.'
'Cut it up.'
'I've cut it up, sir.'
'What do you see here?'
'These quite tiny seeds, sir.'
'Now, take one of them and cut it up.'
'I've cut it up, sir.'
'What do you see there?'
'Nothing, sir.'
'This finest essence here, son, that you can't even see—look how on account of that finest essence this huge banyan tree stands here. The finest essence here—that constitutes the self of this whole world; that is the truth; that is the self (ātman); And thus that's how you are, Śvetaketu.
In the beginning, son, this world was simply what is existent - one only, without other. And it thought to itself: "Let me divide & differentiate; let me become many; let me propagate myself."
The myriad, the multiplicity, cannot be without a root; so look to the existent as the root. The existent, my son, is the root of all these creatures & the existent is their resting place, the existent is their foundation. Believe, my son: the finest essence here—that constitutes the Self of this whole world; that is the Truth; that is the Self, And that's how you are, Śvetaketu.'
Chandogya Upanishad 6.8.7, The dialogue between Uddalaka and his son Śvetaketu.
The Linga Purana contains the idea of Ardhanārīśvara, ('the half-female Lord), a form of Shiva combined with his consort Parvati. Parvati is an embodiment of Shakti, the recreative energy and power of Shiva, and she is the cause of a bond that connects all beings and a means of their spiritual release. She is also known as Kamarupa (the embodiment of one's desires).
Ardhanārīśvara is depicted as half-male and half-female, equally split down the middle. The concept indicates that the goddess Adi Shakti (Parvati) is the mother of existence and she is the equal of the god Shiva, that both are co-creators of the cosmos, and together, as Ardhanārīśvara, are the source of all creative energy and sublime splendor in the universe.
Parashiva is considered to be Para Brahman, which; as the first existent, invisible, formless, quiddity; is signless or linga-less; and therefore source of the universe is signless. Adi Parashakti, who is also Mahakali 'Time', is the Para Brahman as well, & also Brahman, the Ground of Being, in its energetic state, the ultimate reality; she is the womb of all creation. Thus Mahakali's epithet is Brahmamayi, meaning "She Whose Essence is Brahman". Ardhanārīśvara contains both Parashiva & Adi Parashakti; all of existence is a dialectical union of the unchanging uttermost and the ever-changing extant; and the sign of that creative energy, the manifested Linga.
"Shiva is signless, without color, taste, smell, that is beyond word or touch, without quality, motionless and changeless". (Transl: Stella Kramrisch)
Giving help to everyone, showing kindness to all, is called the highest worship of Shiva, the Lord of eight forms.
— Linga Purana 2.13.35-36 (Transl: Stella Kramrisch)
TRUTH is not what you want it to be;
it is what it is, and you must bend to its power or live a LIE.
Miyamoto Musashi
Poem by Adam J. Teeling
On a lazy, grey haze-y, anyday afternoon,
I get lonely and bored of my little room
So I go out of the building and onto the street
And I stomp in the puddles with my rubber boot feet
This city gets dirty but there’s one pretty park
Where there sits an oak tree with gnarly old bark
I go and I sit under that sitting tree
I sit and I think and the tree sits with me
I think of the thinkers that no one forgets
And try to think thoughts they haven’t thought yet
But the thought is disrupted as soon as it comes
By the sonorous pounding of ominous drums
And it isn’t just drums but the beating of feet
As there are things that are marching out there on the street
One thing gives me a look and then shakes its head
And tells me to stop sitting and start marching instead
It points out the need for the marching of things
But I can see very well what all this marching brings
These things have no time for trees and for sitting
And marching this way means not really thinking
So the thing goes on marching on a march without glee
And it never waves back to me and my tree
They march and they march and the march never ends
And I sit and I watch with my sitting friend
And where are they marching that they don’t seem to care
How much marching it takes for them to march there?
And I’m glad to be sitting and relax with my tree
For the march marches on much too long for me
And while the sitting tree sits everyday of the year
The best thinking gets done when I’m sitting here
Poem by Adam J. Teeling
There is a moment tucked in between
The click of the light and the start of a dream
When there’s nothing to do but lay thinking in bed
And follow the train of thoughts in your head
And sometimes while wondering wandering thoughts
There’s a notion so catching that I become caught
Like that night long ago when I was not yet asleep
I pondered the notion of a world people free
What is the world without people in it?
I tried thinking the thought but could barely begin it
For all that I’d known in my short string of days
Was the workings of people and their people-y ways
I drifted to sleep as if the thought was a joke
But was no longer laughing when I awoke…
That morning was different from all others before
For my mom didn’t call me from outside my door
I walked out of my room and called down the stairs
“Good morning! Hello! Is anyone there!”
Nobody answered so I went down for a look
Mom often reads at the table but there was only a book
I went out to the yard to find my Dad doing chores
But there was only his house coat left on the porch
I started to fear that I’d been left all alone
So I went to the neighbours to see who was home
I knocked for a bit but nobody came
So I knocked on the doors of every house on the lane
There was nobody there not a soul in the hood
So went through the park past the lonely old wood
I went down the street to the new Mega-Mall
But there was nobody shopping nobody at all
I waited at the bus-stop so I could get Downtown
But no bus ever came and there were no traffic sounds
For that first day I looked all over the place
But there were no people nowhere not even a trace
Then a week passed and I took food from shops
I guess it was stealing but there weren’t any cops
I was bored and alone so I learned how to drive
I was breaking the rules but the rules didn’t mind
Weeks turned to months and I ate only from cans
I drove all over town in my neighbours Trans Am
By this time I had long talks with myself
The conversation was always about the state of my health
Eventually the months added up into a year
And I’d stopped long before asking “If anyone’s here?”
By the end of the year the parks had grown over
And the streets had sprouted with saplings and clover
The people weren’t there so everything went wild
The deer ate from parks and the bears from trash piles
The wolves howled at night and hawks filled the sky
I had to hide and be wise just to survive
I became quite good at avoiding the bears
And when wolves were about I always took care
Eventually the year turned to years
And I marked every birthday with a bucket of tears
And now I don’t care of no interest to me
Is what the world would be like if it were people free
