Outline of Action Research

This Action Research presentation proposes a novel method of conducting action research. The main outline of activities is managed by the Action Research Mind Map as follows. The nodes in the Mind Map determine how the Report is laid out.

Each node supports a range of Applets that perform specific functions. The aggregate of applets provides a good range of applications to complete good Action Research.

How Action Research is different

Simple explanation:

• Higher generation application

• Applet performs a Task utility

• Task function and not Formula function

• Problem Solving is Task based not Formula based

Action Research is Integrated and Threaded

• Not just a Mind Map

• Mind Map is linked to other processes

• Cascading property

• Output of one task is the input of next task

• Researcher cannot go astray

Emphasis on formula

• Difficult to conduct a quantitative study using a huge range of formulas alone, e.g. Excel, SPSS, SAS, Minitab, R, 

• Difficult to conduct a qualitative study using excerpts alone, e.g. Atlas.ti, Nvivo, etc.

• These are purely analytical - not task based

Cannot handle tasks like

Double trouble

• Cannot use commercial software despite intensive training

• Need different software for different purpose

• All have their own peculiarities
