Scatter Plot

Scatter Plot (or Scatter Graph) is a graph is used to display and compare two or more sets of related quantitative data each having a coordinate (x, y). A Scatter Plot is used to investigate the possible relationship between two variables. A straight line of best fit (using the least squares method) is included.

Simple Tally

The Tally Sheet is a tool to assess the frequency of observations in a process. It is particularly useful when data categories can be identified. The Tally Sheet is useful to keep count of items in an easy way.

Advanced Tally

The Advanced Tally Sheet is a tool to assess the frequency of observations in a 2-way process. It is particularly useful when data categories can be identified.

Affinity Analysis

An Affinity Diagram is a creative categorization process to gather and organize concepts, ideas, opinions, issues, etc. into several categories of data according to the natural relationships between the items.

Force Field

A Force Field Diagram is tool that compares the Driving Forces and the Restraining Process and results if the overall balance is in favor of the driving forces or the restraining forces. The tool is useful to arrive at a decision when there are many opposing forces to a change.

Before-After Comparison

A Before-After Pareto Graph is used to view a comparison of two data sets in a single graph. The tool is particularly useful to compare data "Before" and "After" some change has been made.

SWOT Analysis

The SWOT Analysis tool is an important too to identify the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. The SWOT Analysis can be done much more objectively. Since the Weakness and Strength and be expressed on the X-axis, the relevance of the item can be plotted on the Y-axis together with a third dimension on the impact. This makes SWOT Analysis a very powerful tool for managers.

Box Plot

The Box Plot is a tool to quickly evaluate the distribution of data. The plot shows the Minimum, 1st Quartile, Median, 3rd Quartile and Maximum. Symmetry (or non symmetry) of data is also graphically evident from the plot. Box Plots may be shown vertically or horizontally.

Hierarchy Comparison

The Hierarchy Comparison tool is used to make pair-wise comparison of variables from many users and thereby provide a ranking of the variables. The tool is useful to see the extent of agreement, disagreement or polarization.

Risk Assessment

The Risk Assessment tool is used to evaluate the risks involved in an issue. Variables are weighted according to risks and the overall risk is calculated.

Likert

The Likert Scale applet is used to study several dimensions in a questionnaire instrument. Ratings are based on a scale, e.g. 1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-Indifferent, 4-Agree and 5-Strongly Agree. Each dimension can then be tested for its statistical significance.

Qualitative Analysis

Qualitative Analysis is a primarily exploratory research tool used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for subsequent potential quantitative research.
