Our Goals
We support Albemarle County Public Schools. Our goals:
Convene families from all schools to share information, exchange ideas, and collaborate on shared goals.
Build knowledge of family leaders via information from ACPS and outside experts.
Communicate information and engagement opportunities to families at all schools.
Collaborate with family leaders (PTO / PTA / PTSO, advisory committees & community orgs) to address division-level barriers to family engagement.
Elevate family questions and concerns to have an influential voice with division leadership.
For high-priority common goals, advocate to achieve desired change.
Promote an open and supportive collaboration between families, educators, and ACPS leadership.
ACPS Family Council is a quasi-Advisory Council to the Superintendent.
We are family-led and family-controlled, with support from the ACPS Office of Community Engagement.
