ADR Fire-Rescue held extrication training Monday night.
Chief Steve Camlin led the crew through both old school and new school extrication techniques. At the same time, the EMS team practiced providing patient care in high stress situations: such as when patients are entrapped in a vehicle.
Chief Camlin and Adam Coleman also shared a lesson on airbag locations in different types of vehicles, explaining not only where to find them but why it’s so important to avoid them during operations.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and an extra thanks to those who take the time to instruct us one-on-one, passing down their wisdom and skills.
A good job is doing what you’re supposed to, but a job well done is knowing why you’re doing it.

Rising floodwaters threatened homes, and 9 people were safely extricated from 2 residences thanks to the dedication, training, and teamwork of our members. These are the moments that define what it means to serve — putting others first when the need is greatest.

Why ADR is called the “Firehouse”.
A house is a home. A place where family comes together. Somewhere everyone has a role to play and every individual is important. It’s where you come from, and no matter what always find your way back to. And most importantly, it is not a building. It’s the people in it.
We’re not just firefighters and EMS. We are Moms and Dads, Grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters. We are FAMILY.
