The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) is a province of the Anglican Communion, and it is composed by 41 dioceses.[1][2] The current Leader and Archbishop of Kenya is Jackson Ole Sapit. The Anglican Church of Kenya claims 5 million total members.[3] According to a study published in the Journal of Anglican Studies and by Cambridge University Press, the ACK claims 5 million adherents, with no official definition of membership, with nearly 2 million officially affiliated members, and 310,000 active baptized members.[4] The church became part of the Province of East Africa in 1960, but Kenya and Tanzania were divided into separate provinces in 1970.

The Most Rev. Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit is the current Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya. He was enthroned as the sixth Archbishop of Kenya in 2016, succeeding Archbishop Eliud Wabukala. First Clergy to start Anglican Church in Kenya
Festo Habakkuk Olang was indeed a significant figure in the Anglican Church of Kenya. He served as the first African Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya from 1970 to 1980, marking a historic milestone in the church's leadership. During his tenure, Archbishop Olang provided leadership and guidance to the church, overseeing its growth and development across the country. His commitment to his faith and his leadership qualities left a lasting impact on the Anglican Church of Kenya and its members. Additionally, his dedication to both his religious duties and his family, as evidenced by his upbringing of twelve children, reflects his strong character and values.
After rapid growth of the CPK in Maasai land, this Diocese was inaugurated in 1993 by subdivision of the Diocese of Nairobi. However, the Diocese remained under the charge of Nairobi Diocese until 1997 when it got its First Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Jeremiah Taama. He was consecrated on the 3rd of August 1997 and served until late 2011 when he retired. The Rt. Rev. Gadiel Katanga Lenini was Consecrated & Enthroned January 15, 2012 as the 2nd Bishop of the Diocese.
