One of the main keys to New Media Art and Design is accessibility. Accessibility to art is something that wasn't as common in the past but has become more common and way easier than ever before. This is key to New Media Art and Design because having access to art has never been easier than it is now with new media. Not only can you go to a museum and see art, but you can also have it at home and even have access to it 24/7 with phones.

Artificial intelligence is very accessible. Anyone with a phone or computer can access it. This medium can be used for many different purposes from creating art and telling short stories, to even writing papers. AI is something that is still being developed but has brought up many questions and concerns for artists. But this doesn't necessarily make it a bad thing. It just shows how New Media Art and Design is still being developed and defined.
This piece by Sofia Crespo shows how AI can be used and create a lot of questions. It is very unnatural and makes us think of a violation of nature. Even though the piece can be very disturbing it is a great example of how AI can be used to create images by anyone. All you have to do is give it a prompt and then watch it do its thing based on assumptions.
This is key because its accessibility to anyone young and old is important for it to be considered new media art.
Cinema is a medium that was created and expanded for the masses. It combines many different editing and filming tools to make the movies and shows we see today. This is accessible to everyone, whether it be going to see a movie in theaters, watching online, or through streaming programs. These movies were made for communities and for the masses and to be accessed by all.
The Rescuers Down Under is a perfect example of the evolution of this genre, as it is the first film that is produced fully on a computer. This also shows how movies were made to be accessed by everyone as it is a film that was made for kids but can be easily enjoyed by adults because of the graphics and the message in the movie. The movie also shows how it was created to be accessed easily by anyone who wants to see it.

Photoshop allows people to manipulate photos. This manipulation can alter how someone looks in the background. This is a tool that is widely used, and anyone can do it. Photoshop is something that is seen every single day. This version of New Media art can be seen in magazines, TV shows, or on social media, whether it be an image with a filter on it or drastically altering how someone looks. It is something that no one can get away from because of how accessible it is. Everyone's phones come equipped with minor photo editing tools, and they also have apps that can be downloaded for further, more detailed editing. Putting the development of new media into everyone's hands and making it harder to deny new media arts accessibility.
The article Faking It by Mia Fineman shows just how easy Photoshop is and how many organizations use it, even the ones who say they don't. A prime example of this was National Geographic when they edited a photo to fit it on a magazine cover, "In order to fit the Image, which was horizontal, onto the vertical cover, one pyramid was digitally shifted closer to the other" (pg. 38). While this proved to have huge controversy, it just proves the accessibility to new media techniques and how they are used daily, especially today.
