Hello troops. Thanks so much for considering our farm for your programs; we are excited to be running some fun horse/animal programs this year.
The cost for each program is $30/scout. Each program is an hour and a half. For "Pet Care" and "Three Cheers for Animals", we can take up to 15 scouts; for "Horseback Riding" and "Animal Helpers" we can take up tp 10 scouts (some days may be 12). If your troop is large we can split into two groups or extend the time for the additional scouts.
What to Expect: For all of our programs, we begin by discussing animal safety. After our safety talk we typically split into two groups: one group will start with non-riding activities, while the other group rides horses. We will then switch halfway through so that everyone has a change to do each of the activities. The exception is the pet care in which large troops will be split into three groups and will rotate through the different activities.
2026 Spring /Summer Dates: We are currently registering troops for our Scout days. To register please fill out the google form, https://forms.gle/QPUQLG1n5VtjZ21D9 you will be emailed back with a confirmed time. Additional dates may be available on request.

Girls will learn to ride a horse at the walk, steer and stop. Some groups may be ready to trot or go on a short trail ride but this depends on each group.
Animal helpers (Cadettes)
In this unique program girls will learn how animals such as rabbits and horses can help people emotionally and help people with disabilities. Girls will help with training of some of our potential therapy animals (rabbits and horses) and learn about the process of becoming a therapy animal. We will also talk about requirements for service animals and how horses are being used as service animals. Girls will get to go on a horse ride to explore the special connection people can have with horses.
This program was put together for girls that have already finished their horseback riding badge but want to learn more about horses. In this badge program, Girls will get to ride a horse and learn about how we teach mustangs (and other horses) to get used to taking a rider. Girls will learn about our Mustang Horse training program. Girls will get some hands-on experience with gentled mustangs and learn about the process of gentling a mustang horse and see some of our trick horses put on a show. They will learn about a mustang's specialized brands and their meaning, and will try create their own brand design.
