Presenting part of my publication with nursing colleagues.
My professional training with law enforcement began in 2008 as a pre-doctoral intern at Counseling, Mediation and Forensic Services (CMFS, Bohemia, NY). At CMFS, I completed assessments and conducted therapy with law enforcement officers and their families.
I was also the proud recipient of a Scholarship in Memory of Clarence G. Robinson, M.D., Society of Honorary Police Surgeons of the City of New York in 2006.
Since 2008, I have served as a researcher or faculty member in several capacities alongside my colleagues in academia and medical centers.
These experiences have given me an in-depth understanding of the cultural norms and expectations in healthcare, and how to harness the training of my colleagues to maximize their functioning.
I have specialized in military research since 2009, with a focus on prevention, couples, and families.
As a pre-doctoral intern at Counseling, Mediation and Forensic Services (CMFS, Bohemia, NY), I began my professional training with military service members, conducting assessments and making recommendations for those returning from Operational Iraqi Freedom and Operational Enduring Freedom.
In addition to working clinically with volunteer firefighters, I have taken continuing education credit in providing them psychological services.
