Dr. Eckardt will be on a leave of absence in June and July.
Ann C. Eckardt, PsyD, ABPP is a New York State licensed psychologist who holds specialty board certification (less than 5% of American psychologists are board certified) in Couple and Family Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology .
Dr. Eckardt is also credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and is a fellow at The New York Academy of Medicine.
She serves as a Past-President of the Suffolk County Psychological Association (SCPA), and was awarded Psychologist of the Year by the Association in 2021.
Dr. Eckardt primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). She is an expert in using evidence-based interventions with couples, families, and individuals to help them function more effectively, especially those in high-stress/high-risk occupations. She also has years of research team experience in developing interventions to identify potential issues and focus on strengths before problems become bigger and more challenging.
She received a Psy.D. in School-Community Psychology from Hofstra University, and was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University.
Dr. Eckardt has published and presented couple and family research. She was featured in popular media such as Newsday and Women’s Health. Dr. Eckardt was awarded a Kaslow Family Fund Grant (2018), and an Early Career Psychologist Credentialing Scholarship by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists (2015).
In addition to her practice, Dr. Eckardt holds University-level research and faculty appointments.
