Our Musical Stylings

Part folk, part rock, part limited instrumental talent, the group uses a minimalist guitar/percussionist approach inspired by Liz Phair, the Indigo Girls, Patti Rothenberg, Tenacious D, and Will Farrell.

We have been influenced by Joan Jett, the Runaways, Guns N Roses, Cinderella, AC/DC, Sonic Youth, White Zombie, among others. We think Paul Rudd and Jimmy Fallon stole our video aesthetic.

Their recent work is inspired by hair metal of the 1980s and the incisive parody legacy of Weird Al Yankovic. We subscribe to the philosophy of AC/DC's Angus Young:

• "It's just rock and roll. A lot of times we get criticised for it. A lot of music papers come out with: 'When are they going to stop playing these three chords?' If you believe you shouldn't play just three chords it's pretty silly on their part. To us, the simpler a song is, the better, 'cause it's more in line with what the person on the street is."
