The Ministry of Defense will represent the Acadian Military in the government. It will be in charge of coordinating funds for the military, buying equipment, as well as giving the military a voice in the government via a senate seat.
The Minister of Defense will be elected alongside other ministers in monthly elections. Unlike those other ministers, he must meet their necessary qualifications as well as being an enlisted member of the military itself.

2. If a citizen is found to be harboring pearls outside of a vault without express written permission from the Senate of Acadia, it may result in immediate revocation of Citizenship status.
3. There shall not be private vaults owned by Citizens of Acadia a. The only vaults in Acadia shall be owned directly by the governing body, groups being passed on when Ministers gain and lose seats.

Involves the harm of another player with malicious intent, but not an intent to kill. [C/M]

Causing the death of a tamed pet belonging to another player. [C/M]

Causing the death of a livestock animal belonging to another player. [C]

Intentionally taking items which belong to another player without their permission. [C/M]

Intentionally taking wealth items which belong to another player without their permission. Or the taking of non-wealth items in the commission of a felony. [F]
C. Livestock Theft
Intentionally taking a livestock animal which belongs to another player without their permission. [F/M/C]
D. Pet Theft
Intentionally taking a tamed pet which belongs to another player without their permission. [F/M]

F. Destruction of Government Property
Intentionally destroying, defacing, or damaging property belonging to the government of the Republic of Acadia or it’s constituent governments. [F/M]

Intentionally creating a nuisance through defacement of property or the placing of blocks or items in order to damage the usefulness of an area. If done in the commission of a felony this offense shall be a felony. [F/M/C]
A. Criminal Harassment
Continuing to contact another player who has asked you not to contact them. [M]
B. Criminal Bigotry
Harassment, teasing, threatening, or the use of slurs because of the race, religion, gender, sexuality, or IRL nationality of another player. [C/M/F]
A. Treason
Waging war against the Republic of Acadia while a citizen of Acadia or giving aid or comfort to the enemies of Acadia in a time of war. [F]
B. Espionage
Sharing of information deemed secret by the government of Acadia with a foreign power or rebellious faction. [M/F]
C. Criminal Secession
To declare or take actions to make any lands claimed by the Republic of Acadia independent of Acadia without the approval of the Acadian Assembly. [F]
D. Coup d’etat
To attempt to overthrow the elected government of Acadia or to place someone in power against the will of the people as reflected by their vote. [F]
E. Election Fraud
To attempt to alter the results of a vote of the citizens of Acadia, The Assembly, The Senate, or a criminal trial to reflect an untrue count. [F]
F. Election Interference
1. To attempt to prevent any player from legally voting in an election. [M/F]
2. To bribe or threaten any player to vote a particular way in an election or trial. [M/F]
3. To attempt to hold a vote or election which does not comply with the Constitution of Acadia. Such an election would be invalid. [C]
A. Severity
The prosecutor (or complainant if no prosecutor has been appointed) shall specify whether a charge that lists multiple categories is a civil, misdemeanor, or felony charge at the time charges are brought. Along with the prosecutor/complainant’s discretion, the following criteria may be used to categorize the offense

3. Mitigating factors
4. Extent of damage or harm
B. Felony
Denoted with an [F] a felony is the most serious category of crime. Punishment for a felony shall include pearling, exile, loss of citizenship, or probation.
C. Misdemeanor
Denoted with an [M] a misdemeanor is a criminal offense. Punishment may include Probation or Pearling for repeat offenses and typically fines or restitution for first offenses.
D. Civil Offense
Denoted with [C], A non-criminal offense. Typical sentence would include restitution or fines.
E. Sentencing
After rendering a guilty verdict the Assembly shall decide on sentencing for the convicted player within 24 hours. Sentencing is at the Assembly’s discretion but the Assembly shall endeavor to ensure fairness in sentencing and shall not impose cruel or unusual punishments

While no party affiliation shall be required to run for or hold any office in the Acadian Republic the government recognizes the benefit of parties to mobilize officials and citizens in the pursuit of shared goals.
To create a political party at the federal level in Acadia the following requirements must be met:
-Membership of at least 3 citizens (or 2 citizens and one resident seeking citizenship)
-A party platform document explaining the party’s positions and general philosophy. It is recommended that this document is 1-2 pages and not a manifesto.
-The organization seeking status as a political party must operate in a non-profit fashion. Parties cannot operate for-profit enterprises but members of parties may.
The formation of a party is protected under the charter of rights’ freedoms of expression and the government may not prohibit the formation or running of candidates by any party unless through a court ruling resulting from criminal activity on the part of the party.
Existing political parties shall create and share a party platform document in #parties (since deleted) within 48 hours of this bill being passed
