Summer To-Do List

• Summer assignments  

  • IB research paper final drafts are due in early August. 

    • Formatting guidelines, including coversheet requirements 

    • EE evaluation checklist

    • Consider the endgame for your EE. For example, perhaps next year you could submit your work to the Regeneron Science Talent Search, application opens June 1. 

  • IB Lit Common App essay draft due in August (see College App and Search Resources for more info)

• Update ManageBac

  • Make sure your EE RQ and subject are up to date. 

  • Catch up or get ahead on your CAS portfolio. Don't hesitate to contact the CAS coordinator, Ms. Ahmed, if you have questions.  

• Prepare for the SAT/ACT (see SAT/ACT News)

• Did you take an IB exam in May? Results are issued on July 6. Credentials for viewing these online were distributed in the spring. Lost yours? Get another copy from Ms. Hughes before summer break. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the annual I(B)ce Cream Social in mid-July. 

• Still no college interview? Appointments are available through the first week in June. Schedule yours here. 

  • Complete the Class of 2025 College Questionnaire.

  • Parents/guardians complete the Class of 2025 Parent/Gauardian Questionnaire.

• Continue your college and scholarship search (see College App and Search Resources and Scholarship and Finanicial Aid Information below).

• Set up your Common App account now. Information entered under the Common App tab will roll over when the new application launches in August. See here for more info about starting early on the Common App.

  • We will NOT use Scoir for college apps next year. Export your Scoir Profile (Personal Details, Personal Bio, Activities and Achievements) as a Resume and save.

    • You MUST register for Parchment, a free transcript service. Check your email for the invitiation and registration code resent on 5/21. Here's a guide. 

• Create your FSA ID (see Scholarship and Financial Aid Information below)

• Build a resume

Summer Programs by Deadline

• Summer Study Programs, University-Affiliated

  • Consider a free summer course at Ivy Tech. Complete the information request form here immediately if interested.

  • Ball State High School Camps and Workshops in Interior Design, Architecture, and Urban Planning: in person and online options available. Apply soon since spaces fill up. Note: financial aid is unclear.

• College Outreach Programs

  • Interested in attending Williams College, one of the "Little Ivies?" Windows on Williams (WOW) is a highly selective, all-expenses-paid fly-in program offered to 150 high-achieving seniors. Preference is given to those who couldn't otherwise afford to visit Williams. The fly-in program occurs October 6-8. Application due: August 1.
