This is artwork putting an emphasis on characters, mostly nonhuman in nature. Characters and figures, which we may also call icons or eidolons, serve as a tool of orientation and a medium for storytelling, as well as for communication. They are transformative and allow us to look beyond our sense of self, letting us hone our own principles of self and our beliefs! We can step outside of our views to attain new eyes for a moment in time. Characters and their dominion over belief systems are not to be scoffed at.

I find mythical creatures to be the greatest source of inspiration.
Though, the beasts and humanoids of our times (which are their children) carry a profound sense of newfound beauty and terror, anxieties and convictions. The fierce, bestial side of beings as well as the more mysterious and even sweet aspects we may see in the drawings of our day, are all of which i long to depict: when i do so, we may understand more about ourselves and also, that non-human, brute side we long to avoid so desperately. That is why the character, the living symbol, is of great importance to me. Through the character, understanding is made tangible and we can identify with it: which renders chracter design transformative.

Yourself as the center-piece

It is to the utmost  importance that a part of yourself is expressed in my work, as i respect you as my client greatly.  For instance, i offer the service to draw you as a creature i may envision you as, according to the description of yourself. Much like a medieval painter hears from the noble lion for the first time: He hears of a monsterous, man-like face, which radiates fiercly like the sun itself! With claws as long and crooked as sickles are and a voice akin to a dragon... Those paintings may not be accurate in anatomy, but they distill the spirit of the animal very well. This same tradition is one that i wish to continue. But it doesn't have to be yourself!
It can be a person you admire, a fleeting vision from a dream, a friend...
Whatever it is that you desire to bring into the light of this world.
