The Paiwan people (Picture 1)are one of the sixteen indigenous ethnic groups in Taiwan. They are a group with multiple cultures and colonial characteristics. Currently, they are mainly distributed in the area from Dawu Mountain in the north to Hengchun Peninsula in the south, from Fangliao in the west to Taimali and Xinyuanli in Taitung City in the east. They have two cultural characteristics: the Five-Year Festival and the Millet Harvest Festival as their ethnic customs.

As time goes by, modern people generally do not understand the indigenous people, which may lead to improper stigmatization and ethnic persecution. For example, by magnifying the negative reports of indigenous people to persecute their traditional image, or by reporting bad drinking habits to generalize their dietary characteristics.
