Volunteering helps employees enhance their communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Decision-making and problem-solving skills improve as well. 07.2023 Mentor for The University of Texas at Dallas
I volunteered as a mentor to current undergraduate students at my alma mater who recently completed an internship. Via Zoom, I shared tips for building a resume, marketing personal skills, and completing a successful interview. The Jindal School of Business continued to receive positive feedback from interns assigned to me and I enjoyed my time with them.
03.2022 Recruitment Advisor for The University of Texas at Dallas
I was asked to continue meeting with undergraduate business students interested in the Supply Chain Management program. This leadership opportunity allowed me to regularly meet with an assigned group to discuss opportunities that would help them meet their career goals.
10.2021 Recruitment Advisor for The University of Texas at Dallas
The Jindal School of Management asked me to meet with undergraduate business students to answer questions about learning opportunities, and internship possibilities and to share my personal experiences in the business sector. Students commented on the value of speaking to a recent graduate and came away with a clear focus on career goals.
01.2021 - Grace Community Outreach
I served as a community greeter and food drive volunteer at Grace Church in Plano, Texas. I enjoyed fellowship in a Life Group which donates supplies and service to the Collin County area food bank. The Covid crisis caused a high demand for donations of time and resources.
04.2020 - Rising Star Civic Volunteer Award
I was honored with a Rising Star Award from the City of Frisco Texas! I completed a significant amount of community service hours as part of their Municipal Volunteer Program.
12.2019 - Alpha Phi Omega Service Award
I was honored for completing 100 hours of volunteer service in my community! The APO Chapter at The University of Texas at Dallas held a Blue Foil Pinning Ceremony in December to recognize brothers and sisters who achieved this milestone.
10.2019 - DECA Judge
The University of Texas at Dallas partners with area public high school DECA participants to develop young leaders and entrepreneurs. Students are given various business role-play situations and must meet objectives when responding. I spent the day as a judge looking for creative solutions that met specific criteria. I provided feedback to each participant with the goal of preparing them for future competitions.
09.2019 - Shawnee Trail Cowboy Day Volunteer
Blame it all on my roots...I showed up in boots...to herd community members through photo booths, armadillo races and other fun events at the Shawnee Trail Cowboy Day in Frisco, Texas! I spent my day volunteering with area college students to support the Frisco Heritage Association.
09.2019 - Toyota Stadium Volunteer
Volunteers from the University of Texas at Dallas chapter of Alpha Phi Omega worked concessions for a local concert at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Proceeds help our chapter achieve future growth and bring more hours of service to our community.
09.2019 Alpha Phi Omega Chapter Disciplinary Committee Member
I was elected by my peers to serve on our chapter disciplinary committee for the 2019-20 school year. This leadership role allows me to confer with members struggling to meet chapter requirements and to collaboratively find resolutions.
01.2019 - Frisco Public Library Volunteer
I rather enjoyed interacting with students turning in their books, shelving books and learning about the passport process this week. I also helped with Hack Your Career Day events sponsored by the City of Frisco. I provided photography and resume assistance to the general public.
10.2018-10.2019 - Perot Museum Volunteer
I began my work as a Boo Bubbles Expert helping students learn how carbon dioxide reacts with oxygen...and I was hooked. I'm now one of their regular volunteers hosting weekend student learning events. I generally work with elementary age groups as they explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Artistic and Mathematics) concepts.
10.2018 - Texas Quiz Bowl Volunteer
I was an official scorekeeper at an academic competition for middle and high school students at Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas. Texas Quiz Bowl Alliance (TQBA) is a not-for-profit organization that facilitates the Lone Star State’s most dynamic, fun, and challenging academic competition. Texas Quiz Bowl is advised by a board of former players representing Texas A&M University, the University of Texas, and Rice University. TQBA seeks high-achieving college students willing to help them host local events.
09.2018 - Tuesday Toastmaster Member
Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. My local chapter is at The Jindal School of Management, The University of Texas at Dallas. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, I hope to improve my speaking and leadership skills.
09.2018 - Inducted into Alpha Phi Omega
Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service fraternity organized to provide community service, leadership development, and social opportunities for college students. I was inducted as an active member of the University of Texas at Dallas chapter.

10.2017 - Make a Difference Day Volunteer
Volunteers from across the country united for Make A Difference Day, one of the largest annual single-days of service nationwide. Since 1992, volunteers and communities have come together on Make A Difference Day with a single purpose: to improve the lives of others. I spent the day in The Colony, Texas, assisting at an animal shelter.
