Background:

ABC's originated in 2017 by the OWL Santa Clara community at the Oracle Campus in Santa Clara

This is an ally collaboration that meets bi-weekly as a discussion group at the Santa Clara campus for Oracle. It was started by OWL (Oracle Women’s Leadership) in collaboration with MAVEN (Military and Veterans Network). For more info, contact Nancy Moreno or John Casey, both on LinkedIn.

ABC is an acronym for Article and Book Club on professional development topics. The focus is on professional and career development. It offers an informal community forum to foster open dialog on a range of topics for professional development, sharing of best practices, and facilitates an opportunity for peer-mentoring and network relationship building.

It is constructed as an ongoing series of themed topics relevant to career growth and professional development. Participants are encouraged to suggest articles or books for discussion and lead a topic. Its format is a conversation-circle technique for sharing and discussing topics and may be similar to the style of a “Lean-In Circle,” inspired by Sheryl Sandberg in her book "Lean In".
