This short video was a great way to remind me how little it takes to show someone you care. A simple wave, hug, or a phone call can be remarkable. It is very true we all can get caught up in our daily routine and sometimes forget to let people know we notice them and they are important in our lives. It only takes a few seconds to show someone you care, do not forget that!
This video reflects inspiration for me. Every person can say they have had one person in their life to inspire them to be better. For a lot of people, that is a teacher they have had at some point in their educational career. I know I have had at least three teachers that have inspired me because they went above and beyond for me, more than just their duties as a teacher. Each scenario in this video shows you the extra things teachers take the time to do and the outcome of their actions. Without teachers, I see the world feeling a lot less inspired.
The title says it all, you can see first-hand from this school how much innovation has worked wonders for their students. Student attendance has gone up, less suspensions are issued, and the students seem generally happy. All of this happened because teachers and students were given a little room to try something new. Students had lessons personalized to their style of learning and it is working very well for this school.
This video is perfect for anyone that is currently a teacher or anyone going into teaching. For most people, failing in school has been drilled into our heads constant;y and how bad it is for you. You never really hear about doing your best and how there is always room for improvement or to better yourself based off of your failure. Students need to be exposed to failure so they know how to cope with failure and how to improve their skills. Failing is never the end, something good can always come out of failure. I love that this principal shared his personal story of failure and how he incorporates learning from failure into his school. Teachers and students have the chance to be risk takers because they know failing is not the end in their school. I think if more schools operated this way, kids would not be so afraid to try new things and they would not be tied down to the thought of failing at something.
If this video does not show the pure feeling of joy, I do not know what does! I have watched this video so many times. If I am having a bad day, I always go back to this video to remind me how we sometimes take the small things for granted and we should always be grateful for what we have. You can see from the smile on Leo's face, how much joy is in his heart when he can finally see his mom's face clearly. I can not even begin to imagine how his mom was feeling, I am sure her heart was overflowing with joy.
