TEATRO CERVANTES

El Teatro Cervantes ha sido declarado de bien de interés cultural en 1986. Sobre todo en él se celebran zarzuelas y conciertos. Su arquitecto fue José Antonio Rodríguez. Algunos elementos son iguales que los de teatro Romea. Sobre el escenario hay una foto de Miguel de Cervantes. En la parte de arriba se encuentran tres cuadros en homenaje a Cervantes por la obra de "Don Quijote de la Mancha".Tras una larga vida de casi 60 años, el teatro Cervantes cierra las puertas en 1984. Las vuelve a abrir en el 2000 realmente cambiado y restaurado. Y además hecho por José Miguel Templado.

Tiene un aforo de 504 localidades.

Cervantes

The Teatro Cervantes was inaugurated on September 26, 1926 and was built over the Cinema Cervantes building. Its architect was José Antonio Rodríguez and it was one of the first buildings in the region built with an iron frame which made it earthquake-proof. Its boxes’ rails were identical to the ones in Teatro Romea; the most significant theatre in Murcia City. The ceiling was painted by Vicente Pastor. In the curtain there is an allegory of nymphs and women dressed in light tunics amongst the shadows of leafy trees. At the top of the scene there is a portrait of Miguel de Cervantes and a canvas with three scenes from Don Quixote.

After almost sixty years, on June 4, 1984, Teatro Cervantes closed down. Its reinauguration took place on September 26th, in the year 2000. By then, the building was totally restored and it resumed its cultural activity.
