A memorable day for AASC Library! Smti. Arati Das, wife of late H. N. Das, IAS (Rtd.), former Chief Secretary of Assam generously donated almost 1800 books and other reading materials from their private collection to AASC Library. Late H. N. Das, IAS also served as Director General of AASC. During his tenure, he restructured the administrative training scenario of Assam by developing AASC into an apex training institute with international standards.
Team AASCL profusely thanks Smti. Das for her generosity. The books, which are testimonials to their intellectual prowess, shall be preserved at our library.

It was a pleasure to receive Shri Binay Krishna Das, LIA, NERIWALM, Tezpur during his maiden visit to our library. The interaction provided an opportunity for professional exchange on contemporary issues in librarianship, including best practices, service innovation, and professional development. The discussion was insightful and mutually enriching. Such engagements strengthen professional networks and contribute to the continuous improvement of library services.

It is a matter of extreme pride for Team AASC Library that our Assistant Librarian, Shri Sanjeev Kalita received the Yuva Lekhak Sanman from Govt. of Assam. In an enthusiastic ceremony, Director of Training felicitated him for his achievement and wished him success. His collection of poetry "Chajina Phula Rati", published from 'Sampriti' by Bandhav, Panbazar and to be inaugurated in the Assam Book Fair 2025 is expected to be received well by the readers and critiques. All the best to Sanjeev!

Miss Shirin Nayak and Miss Jonaki Kashyap, students of MLISc 4th Semester at Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University completed their month-long internship programme at Assam Administrative Staff College Library. During the internship, they were exposed to various facets of library activities, both traditional and novel. From re-arranging dusty books to designing a website of their own, Shirin & Jonaki displayed great enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment. Their contribution not only added value to AASC Library's daily operations but also brought in fresh perspectives on our services. We thank them for their sincere efforts and wish them the very best in all their future endeavors.

Dr. P. V. Rao, Fellow of Knowledge Resource Centre, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), currently Chief Librarian of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal paid a visit to AASC Library on 12th March 2025 while conducting a session on AI tools and knowledge resources for bureaucrats in Induction Training of ACS and APS Officer Trainees (2025 batch). Dr. Rao shared his valuable insights regarding layout and functioning of AASC Library during his visit.

Director of Training planted two valuable Red Sandalwood (Pterocarpus santalinus) saplings gifted by Director, Census in front of the AASC Library today. Deputy Director of Training (A.O i/c), Library Staff and the gardening crew assisted her in the process. We thank Director Ma'am for her kind gesture.
