• Using models to gain perspective of a problem and help represent different possible designs
• Helps to see different approaches and designs
• Classifies aspects of the problem into categories that can be solved with simpler solutions
• Modelling can be done in various ways such as 2D sketches, 3D models, equations, system diagrams, etc.
