Pictured above are some previously patented keyboard designs meant to reduce finger travel, reduce fatigue, and improve typing feeling. Two designs are traditional 104-key QWERTY designs with modified key locations, sizes, and angles, which would improve overall typing posture. The third design is the "ErgoDox" split keyboard, which is designed to reduce the amount of keys being used, reduce finger travel, and twisting of the users wrists. While our designs follow suit with ergonomic improvements, we find that there are further ways to improve the usefulness and relief that comes along with using an alternative keyboard style.
