Hafid Hamadene


Dr. Zia Ud Din is an assistant professor in the Department of Construction Management at the University of Houston. He teaches construction project controls at the undergraduate level and LEED and green construction, and Building Information Modelling for construction management at the graduate level. His research focuses on constructability, construction safety, and construction information technology. He is particularly interested in the use of immersive visual technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality for improving safety and construction productivity. He possesses a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan and a Master of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, and a Ph.D. in Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering from Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe, Arizona, USA. Besides, Dr. Din completed two years of post-doctoral training at ASU. Previously, he researched how innovative pedagogies using serious games can influence

students for safe design thinking. As a postdoc researcher, he has worked on various projects. For example, one of his works focuses on the maturity and accuracy of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and its impact on project performance. Dr. Din takes great pride in his teaching.

Since 2017, he has taught various undergraduate and graduate courses at Arizona State University and the University of Houston. He also possesses six years of professional work experience as a project engineer and construction manager on road construction and building construction projects.
