Pr. Allen Tannenbaum

Pr. Allen Tannenbaum is an affiliate attending computer scientist in the Service of Predictive Informatics at MSK. He is also a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science/Applied Mathematics at Stony Brook University. He has four decades of experience working in systems, computer vision, image processing, medical imaging computation, and biological networks. Together with his research group, he developed novel methodologies for segmentation, registration, and visualization, many of which have become state of the art in medical imaging. These include the first conformal geometric-based virtual colon flythrough, the first conformal method from brain flattening, and the application of optimal mass transport for image registration. He has been applying methods from mathematical network analysis to various biological problems, including cancer networks.
