How can personal development and academic learning of young refugees be promoted, and social cohesion be strengthened?
Abstract
This study, conducted in collaboration between the University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria and Long Island University New York, explores factors contributing to the successful educational and social integration of young migrants in Lower Austrian schools. The findings highlight the crucial roles of school environments, teacher attitudes, friendships across cultural groups, and the balance between biculturalism and cultural identity retention in promoting migrant youth's integration and academic success.
