Both CPR and BLS are put on by the American Heart Association (the gold standard in both pre and in-hospital care)
The AHA CPR/AED and First Aid class is focused on compressions and ventilation with the goal of ROSC, as well as AED education with the same goal. Everyone should know some form of CPR!
The AHA CPR/AED and First Aid class is recognized by and covers all OSHA requirements.
Our manikins are bluetooth enabled and AHA compliant CPR manikins. This allows our instructors to monitor compression rate and depth as well as if breaths are adequate for each student in real time on their tablets.
BLS or Basic Life Support is the standard for all medical providers. BLS is the start of it all in the pre-hospital and in-hospital settings. BLS focuses on high quality chest compressions, ventilation and the use of an AED, with the end goal being return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).
Stop the Bleed is a class run by the American College of Surgeons, NREMT, and US Army Combat Medics. Designed by taking education from all of the above schools of thoughts and used to teach the lay-public information and treatment for life threatening bleeding the main thought being; the only thing more tragic than a death is a preventable one!
Overdose training or Narcan training is designed by the state of Ohio health department and works in conjunction with health departments in all 50 states to help teach the lay-public not only the importance of having household Naloxone (Narcan) but also the importance of knowing how to use it.
At A&A we offer two different classes for Narcan, a pre-hospital class designed for the lay-public and a Pre-health class designed for when you might see overdose and need narcan in the hospital setting.
All Narcan classes taught in Summit county come with the free distribution of narcan kits as well.
For other counties please reach out to us and we can talk about the options.
