Classes for Stop the Bleed are in 2 parts, the classroom lecture setting and then the hands on portion. All classes are capped at 15 students to make sure that everyone has the full attention of the instructors and the best ability to take away helpful tips and tricks. The classes more intimate size allows for better student-instructor interaction and helps to facilitate learning. During the 2 hour class time students will learn what constitutes a major trauma, how to identify the problem and when it is an appropriate time to apply a tourniquet. As well as all of the different tools and equipment that can be used to stop the bleed. Students will also be given their own Stop the Bleed kits made with the recommendations of the Stop the Bleed program as well as from the field tested expertise of the instructors. Stop the bleed class with the kit is $100 per student and $50 without the kit. After the 2 hour class and the instructors sign off, students will leave with their kits in hands and a Stop the Bleed certification, saying that they are now trained in when and how to apply tourniquets and what to do in a life threatening situation.
ADD ON OPTIONS
Stop the Bleed Class material comes with two options. One includes real life photos of bleeding scenarios that our instructors have come across in the field. The other is more along the lines of PG 13 and is safe for most offices. The decision of what course material you would like taught for your operation is up to you.
We also offer the inclusion of Chest Seal training for Stop the Bleed and Crush Injury training. We highly recommend these addition (for no extra cost) if you are a construction company looking to lower your OSHA score. This will however increase class time by about an hour.

Stop the Bleed for the Scholars
Shown here is a photo of two of our instructors demonstrating proper tourniquet application and placement.
This was the second class we got to teach with the Akron Area Health Education Center. With the goal of getting all scholars (who are pre-health in some capacity) to be trained in Stop the Bleed (as well as CPR).
