A car review is where a certain person or group of people (less common) go over features and meticulously critique a vehicle to give you their perspective on what that vehicle is like and how it is to live with on a daily basis.
With a car review, there is more than just one way to do it. Some are short and are maybe ten minutes length maximum, while some reviewers like Redline Reviews and Doug DeMuro go SUPER in-depth and critique even interior materials and give you a super detailed review, whereas channels like TheStraightPipes do more generic but fun reviews.
The way we compose our car reviews is much like Redline Reviews in that they are very detailed, and we critique and go over nearly everything on that vehicle. We also try to add some Doug DeMuro with some (attempted) comical remarks and show some interesting quirks of that vehicle, but also add some StraightPipes vibes into them as well.
With our reviews, we start with an introduction of the vehicle and give a brief history of the vehicle (if it has one), then go over the exterior features, jump into the interior, take a look under the hood, talk about safety, take it for a spin (if dealer allows), and finally give our honest opinions on that vehicle and decide whether or not it is a good buy.
We strive to make our reviews as original as possible, so sometimes we might throw some other car review YouTubers in there as well.
I do use a lapel mic for recording, and although my teammates don't have one, we did set up a Patreon for the supporters of the channel to make it happen, and help us at getting better equipment to make better reviews.
When I first started reviewing, I barely touched any negative points in my reviews, but now I tend to really nitpick things if they don't seem right or don't fit in with the vehicle's competition.
I think about everyone's safety when it comes to reviews. When I drive, I drive just like I do normally, with a smooth foot and very cautious driving. You might say I am probably one of the safest-driving young adults that you've ever met... and that's what I aim for. I am a very safe driver and I take me and my passenger's safety VERY SERIOUSLY.
