There was an Old Person of Mold,
Who shrank from sensations of cold;
So he purchased some muffs,
Some furs, and some fluffs,
And wrapped himself up from the cold.
We sketched a picture of the chill and shivering, adding lots of folds and fuzz to keep him toasty warm and protected from the elements. But while we were developing the model, we made it better and made it a surface you could live on and be at ease with. During the drawing and idea development process, we developed the concept of bulges as a result of the walrus's thick, fatty skin and our careful observation of the animal. We also looked at various bulging forms. We experimented with various shapes and configurations to allow the soft sculpture landscape to occupy the person and create a pleasant, comfortable environment.
We had diverse ideas, so the framework was tough and the first stage was demanding. However, in the end, we made a decision that set our model apart. Despite our differences of opinion, our teamwork was impressive as we gradually reached a decision and improved our soft sculpture. We tried to follow different stages of development, take into account the opinions of group members, and go in the right direction, all of which improved our model. We also searched for the best material to use for the model. Our goal was to ensure that the individual occupying the room felt secure and at ease.
