For quantitative research topics, I learned that it focuses on things that can be measured, using larger samples to gain a better understanding of what is happening in the population. I developed skills in descriptive and inferential analysis, where I learned raw numbers can answer research questions. The thing that surprised me was realizing that even though quantitative methods are quicker and simpler than qualitative methods, they do not give you the rich and personal data that qualitative work provides. I am currently confident using quantitative methods, especially when I have to study a phenomenon that involves a larger number of participants and I am looking forward to continuing to learn such skills for future research studies.
