The North Carolina 8th grade science curriculum focuses on the hydrosphere, Earth's systems, biological evolution, and ecosystem dynamics.  The following standards will be covered:

1. Earth Science

2. Life Science

3. Physical Science

Basic Instruction

• Read and review lessons from the textbook.

• Students have 5 minutes to review for quiz.

• 10 to 12 question quiz at end of class period.

• Benchmark Exam at the end of the Earth, Life and Physical Science units.

Grading

• 50% quizzes

• 50% tests

• Be on-time.

• Be prepared.

• Take out notebook, pencil, eraser, and textbook upon entering classroom.

• Take notes.

• Participate in class.

• Study for quizzes and tests.

• Practice on IXL and Study Jams.    

• Be quiet.  Raise your hand.

• Be respectful.  Clean up behind yourself.

• Stay in classroom until class is dismissed.
