Brief Synopsis of the BAL/Looping Framework

The Framework Briefly

The framework is a functional model for how the human brain works.

It begins not with thought or language, but with the basic logic of animal life – brains like the one in Myllokunmingia (pronounced MILL-low-koon-MING-ghee-uh), a tiny swimmer that lived during the Cambrian Period, over 500 million years ago, capable of sensing the world, acting on it, and learning from what happened next. An early chordate, and possibly one of the very first vertebrates, Myllokunmingia may have been one of our direct ancestors, or at least close to it.
