This page details the major, special activities and structured challenges that go beyond our regular weekly training, creating unforgettable moments for the IWT 7A Walking Club community.
Get ready to groove and stride! The Walk and Dance Festival is our biggest, most anticipated quarterly event designed to blend the structured challenge of walking with the pure, infectious fun of celebratory movement.
What to Expect: This is a comprehensive festive event, not just a standard session. The festival will be anchored by two main athletic components: a 5km community walk around the 7A area, perfect for all members, alongside a dedicated Race Walking competition for advanced participants.
The Festival Atmosphere: To ensure a true celebratory atmosphere, we are planning a massive showcase featuring Dance Exhibitions from various Zumba and fitness groups within Pacita. The event site will transform into a community hub with Food Stalls set up to ensure everyone can refuel, socialize, and enjoy the day.
Goal & Partnership: Our primary goal is to promote holistic community wellness on a grand scale. To achieve this, we are actively seeking partnerships with local and national health and wellness sponsors (such as Gatorade) who share our dedication. If you are a business or organization interested in supporting this event, please contact us via our main club email.
Our major, structured events test endurance, celebrate distance goals, and motivate continuous improvement.
10,000 Steps to Health Challenge: This is our major structured endurance event, held Monthly. It is designed to test commitment and celebrate reaching significant distance goals. (See the IWT Challenges page for full details and rules).
Next Big Date: Our next 10,000 Steps to Health Challenge is set for November 29, 2025. Mark your calendar!
Walk & Dance Festival: This is our major community celebration, featuring the Dance Exhibition and 5km Walk, held Quarterly.
While focused on major events, the IWT 7A Walking Club loves to celebrate milestones and build community.
We regularly schedule informal gatherings and social events to celebrate collective achievements, such as our "Monthversaries" and the successful completion of training blocks. These gatherings are the perfect way to connect with fellow walkers, share tips, and build the strong sense of community that defines our club. Keep an eye on our club announcements and email updates for details on upcoming social mixers and year-end celebrations!
