THIS BEING UPDATED
How do living things interact?
4.1 Construct food chains and food webs for organisms.
4.2 Identify organisms in food chains and food webs in the roles of producer, consumer (first, second, third order/level), decomposer, herbivore, carnivore and omnivore.

You are about to embark on a journey into the animal kingdom. Your mission is to create a new and unique creature by combining at least three animals that are already in existence. We will refer to this new and unique being as a switcheroo.
Start by clicking on one of the habitats. Do NOT click any links that say Download.
Then click on head and choose an animal, legs and choose an animal, tail and choose an animal.

Most consumers have different sources of food in an ecosystem and do not only rely on only one species for their food. Why is this an advantage for them?
If we put all the food chains within an ecosystem together, then we end up with many interconnected food chains. This is a food web. A food web is very useful to show the many different feeding relationships between different species within an ecosystem .

Use the food web to answer the questions:
Write down two different food chains from this food web. Check the arrow direction!
Identify the levels for the four organisms in the food chain: tree, goat, jackal, lion
What level does the snake occupy in the food chain?
Impacts of natural events, people & industry on ecosystems: Pearson 5.3 and 5.4
Identify how fire monitoring technology assists to manage the impact of bushfires on Australian ecosystems.
Discuss traditional Indigenous practices using fire.
Describe some advances in agriculture, giving examples of how scientists have influenced the development of new practices.
