drivetalk is a narrative-driven game about a taxi driver's emotional, introspective journey presented through conversations with an eclectic set of characters.
This game is currently in development! Inspired by the likes of What Remains of Edith Finch and Papers, Please, we sought to make an emotionally impactful game that leaves the player thinking about it afterward. We completed a full demo in Winter of 2025, and are planning for a full release with 5 hours total of content in 2026.
The game takes place in the 2000s in a small town. You play as the taxi driver, Dominic, and learn about the town, the characters, and your own past through the rides you give.
ICS Expo and Z3 Expo
After completing the full demo of our game, we were able to get 45-60 minutes of gameplay, 597 total lines of dialogue, and 7 fully animated and voiced characters. We took our game to ICS Expo at UC Irvine and VGDC's Z3 Expo, our student game showcase.
Winter 2025 Progress
Fall 2024 Progress
In this role I acted as the producer.
Managed a cross-departmental team of 7 using ClickUp, assigned tasks, weekly sprints and Agile methodology
Held bi-weekly standups to oversee progress
Facilitated weekly team meetings and taking detailed meeting notes
Coordinated meetings with 4 different design and narrative mentors
In this role, I acted as the character designer and an artist.
Focused on making frame-by-frame animations
Maintaining stylistic cohesion from character to character
Creating multiple iterations of a character's design and visual appearance
We did not have 3D artists comfortable modeling characters, so it was a challenge to make 2D art that would look good in a 3D environment! These character sprite animations are seen in the rearview mirror.
